The Thanksgiving of the feast is the Thanksgiving we all know and have been told was the first one. It was not.
It may have been the first feast, but it was not the first offering of thanks to God. That event happened a few years earlier with almost spartan trappings and few participants. That Thanksgiving did come with orders from the London Company to keep that day in observance.
