Amazon Prime Day can be Any Day

Amazon Prime is one of the best deals going

What is Amazon Prime?

Amazon Prime is a subscription service which has perks for both digital items-music or movies or television channels-as well as physical items-books and pots and pans and groceries.  Members get faster shipping on most products purchased, usually 1 t o2 day shipping and almost always, the shipping is free.

Members also have instant access to video streaming, Kindle Owner’s lending library, music streaming, Prime Now, Amazon Prime Rewards Visa card and lightening deals.

Like to read but wish you could do so hands-free?

Let Amazon’s Audible be your solution to reading and doing.  Audible is the reading app and my kids love it for going to be.  Neal Patrick Harris reads some of the books one kid likes and Jim Dale for the Harry Potter series is not to be missed.

Sign up for Audible here and get two free books to start your subscription.

The food guy likes Amazon

Amazon is not the default store for some things. Spices, for instance are sourced elsewhere.  But when it comes to home sized pans and home sized quantities of pans, Amazon is the place.

Food, on the other hand, is appreciated in larger quantities.

Hundreds of books in an itty bitty space

I’ll admit when the Kindle first was introduced I pshawed it.  Books of paper is where it’s at, man.

Well, I’m a convert, but I do still like the paper.  The Kindle offers a few advantages over those paper books, though, and portability is tops among them.  Carry hundreds of books in one small device.  It remembers where you left off, lets you highlight passages, make notes and, for real zippy portions, share them to social media.  For the serious e-reader fans, the Amazon Kindle Unlimited membership has many perks including unlimited reading from over 1 million e-books.

If you prefer having all your Amazon subscriptions on one device and also read your books, the Fire is the device you want.

Oh, yes, still the paper books

Books is what put Amazon on the map and they still offer booksTextbooks and used textbooks and novels and more.

Two days and gone, but a year of benefits

Yes, it is a two day affair with crazy specials but the benefits last all year.  Check out Amazon Prime, subscribe and let the digital world benefit your life.

See more on the blog about how Amazon can help you at this post.

How could a great deal be better?

Use your Prime membership to read my cookbook, Cooking For Comfort, for free on Kindle.

John Moody The soil is kicking us back, Episode 42

So, you wanna be a farmer?

John Moody is my guest today. John is a farmer, a farming advocate and, with Joel Salatin, co-founder of the Rogue Food Conference. I asked John about farming today, the challenges of farming and what has happened to the soil? Where did it go and what’s left and what’s wrong with what’s left?

Farming today risks food wholesomeness and quality as well as animal health, but what’s the alternative?  Small farms seem to be returning, but they’ve an uphill battle.
