Over the years I’ve found some books which have made me a better cook and baker. Cooks and bakers may not always be known for their writing so finding well-written cookbooks makes their discovery all the more fun.

Baking

When I stated bread baking with passion, I dove into Daniel Leader’s book, Bread Alone.  I was able to access what he wrote and apply it to my breads and doughs and it really put me on the path to being a bread baker.  Bread Alone is among some of the baking books I always recommend to anyone interested in learning how to bake bread.

In addition to Daniel’s book, Peter Reinhart is an excellent teacher but is also a philosopher. I cannot recommend enough reading his Brother Juniper’s Bread Book as well his other titles.
